A little bi-furious
[mood |depresseddepressed]

Facebook and Twitter are both full of people I see IRL, and I can't think of a way to say this that isn't whiny or provoking of unwanted attention, but I still neeed to tell someone, so I'll go here, where my followers are few and live in Baltimore.

I'm supposed to give a brief speech introducing myself for a class. The goal is to "represent myself well," but I'm having considerable trouble coming up with anything to say because, basically, I don't like myself very much.

Also, my name change finally comes through Wednesday.

Title: The Foolproof Plan
Fandom: Hetalia
Pairings/Characters: Italy/Germany, Romano/Prussia, Canada, super secret surprise character
Rating: PG-13 for mentions of sex
Warnings: I never intended for this original here to be read, so it includes overly flowery writing, never calling Italy the same thing twice, a plot point that I put in specifically because I'd been thinking of how stupid it was, and creepy Romano because I thought it was funny.
Summary: Romano and Prussia devise a plan to make their brothers spend more time with them.

Italy is known for music, painting, and food, not literature, so Northern Italy didn't realize this was the oldest trick in the book.Collapse )

Hey, guess what? I'm posting ~*~fanfiction~*~.
Well, not yet. I've got an Anime Weekend Atlanta to go to. I'm mostly just posting this is hope that making a promise will make me want to keep it. I was going to post it 2 weeks ago, but I was variously depressed and distracted and it didn't get done.

Don't get excited, though. This fic in question is: 1) Hetalia, and 2) pretty dumb.
Maybe I'll do one of those 50 sentence challenges later. I hope you like fifty sentences of Tigger/Rabbit, because that's what I think I'm going for.

Writer's Block: Kanye West's Tweet Apology [Sep. 15th, 2010|12:18 pm]

How do you feel about Kanye West admitting his past mistakes and apologizing to Taylor Swift on Twitter? Is he trying to win hearts back?

Pfft! Who apologizes on Twitter? There's no way that can be sincere.

The Creepiness of Spoony [Mar. 15th, 2010|11:29 pm]

[music |Dr. Bombay - Girlie Girlie]

There's an extremely artsy videogame out there called "The Madness of Roland." The Spoony One tried to review it, but it was intended for older computers. So he took the videos he could salvage from it, strung them together, and scared the flying bejeezus out of everybody. Including me. Even though I haven't seen it. I saw his Ringface from the very end (that's how I found out about the review, in fact), and now I'm too freaked out to actually watch it. Here is a link, if you don't mind Ringfaces. Admittedly, as Ringfaces go it isn't that bad. His eyes are completely black and his jaw is streched unnaturally wide and kind of off to the side a bit, as I recall.

Let me correct that, it isn't that bad DURING THE DAY. Thinking about it now gives me the wiilies. Then again, people who didn't, say, watch The Ring as a rather sheltered 14-year-old might not have the same problems. Anyway, the very end of it is reportedly the only part that's actually scary, as opposed to creepy-surreal. So I could just close my eyes as soon as I see a shot of the back of Spoony's chair. Or I could hit the Back button halfway through. But I just can't do it this late at night. I read the comments, and just thinking about it this much makes me want to listen to this as loud as it will go. GIRLIE GIRLIE, YOU'RE THE ONE I WANT. I WANT YOU IN THE KITCHEN AND I WANT YOU WHEN I WASH.

If you could choose which fashions would go out of style permanently, what would you choose, and why?

Halter-top bikinis. I find halter tops pretty uncomfortable, but apparently I'm alone because if I want to buy a bikini my only options are "halter top" and "don't buy a bikini." If pushing them out of style is the only way to get people to make the kind with straps over the shoulders, that's fine with me.

Everything comes down to knitting and/or clothes [Mar. 9th, 2010|02:21 pm]
A little bi-furious
[mood |rushedrushed]
[music |June Madrona - The Rifle]

So Pembroke's accounting department apparently has what has been described as a "banquet" next Tuesday to trawl for students interested in the field. My school's single solitary accounting professor was invited, and can bring up to five students with him. I need to sign up by tomorrow, but I can't decide if I want to. I probably won't transfer to Pembroke, but it couldn't hurt to be in contact with them so I have the option. The big problem, for me, is the word "banquet." Eating + formality + strangers = EEK! I'm going to see what Mom thinks this evening.

If I do end up going, i'm going to need to put my keys and phone in something that isn't beat up and twice the size of my head, so I guess I'll be knitting a purse in the next week. I'm currently trying to decide between On the Moon (which is supposed to be for keeping tampons in, yes, but a phone isn't that different sizewise) and Square Cake. I'm also not sure if I should make it black or white. I'll probably be wearing mostly-grey, so it could really go either way. (Unless I go for that blue-and-white seersucker suit. Gah, I should have left one of those things at home so I wouldn't have to decide. On one hand, long sleeves. On the other hand, the tank top shell I got to wear with it is a little cleavage-showy, and I'd rather not wear it backwards again.)
